Everyday Utilities

AFK status, polls, pinning, emoji tools, colour picking and feedback.

Everyday Utilities

Away from keyboard

,afk dinner

Sets your status. When somebody pings you, bore tells them you are away and why. When you speak again, the AFK is cleared and you get a short "welcome back" naming how long you were out.

Run ,afk with nothing for the plain "AFK" message.

A quick vote

,quickpoll

Alias: qp. Adds an up arrow and a down arrow to the message you reply to, or to the one you ran it on. Nobody needs permission, and everybody can vote once per arrow.

For a real poll with named options, Discord's own poll feature is the better tool: bore's quick poll is yes or no.

Pinning

,pin

Pins the message you replied to, or one you linked. Reacts with a pin emoji instead of posting a sentence. Needs Manage Messages. unpin does the opposite.

Emoji and colour

CommandAliasesWhat it does
,emoji 🎉emoteShows an emoji or server emote full size, as a file you can save
,emoji steal 🎉 partycopy, addAdds an emoji to your server, optionally with a new name. Needs Manage Emoji and Stickers
,emoji remove 🎉deleteRemoves one from your server. Same permission
,hex <attachment>dominantReads the main colour out of an image and shows it, with the RGB values
,hex @memberThe same, from someone's avatar

steal needs room in your server's emoji slots, and fails if the limit is full.

Giving feedback

,suggest allow fake permissions to expire after a week

Alias: suggestion. Sends your idea to bore's suggestion channel as a proper embed, up to 4000 characters. This is the fastest way to get a feature considered.

,donate

Shows the hosting fund. Completely optional, and the bot works the same either way.

Making the bot yours

Nicknames, avatar, banner and bio for your server: see Setting Up. All four need Administrator.

Two commands that are gone

screenshot and shazam still show up in some older lists. Both now reply that they have been removed, so do not build a workflow around them. For song lookups, use Last.fm or ,lyrics instead.
