Welcome Messages

Greet new members, say goodbye, and thank your boosters, with as many channels as you like.

Welcome Messages

You can have a different greeting in each channel, and each one can say anything you want. Every command here needs Manage Messages (real or fake).

Joining

,welcome add #general Welcome {user.mention}! You are member {guild.count.format}.

Aliases: welc, welcomer, wlc. Also set and create for add.

Running it again for a channel you already configured edits that channel's message instead of making a second one, and shows you the result right there.

,welcome view #general

Alias: test. Sends the greeting into that channel now, so you can see how it looks.

,welcome list
,welcome remove #general

list shows every channel that has a greeting. remove also works as delete or del.

Leaving

,leaves add #general {user.name} left after {user.joined_at}.

Aliases: bye, leaver, goodbye. Same add, remove and list shape.

leaves test ignores the channel you give it and sends every leave message your server has configured. Useful for checking them all at once, noisy on a server with several.

Boosting

,boosts add #general {user.mention} just boosted us to tier {guild.boost_tier}!

Alias: boost. Fires whenever someone boosts the server.

Writing the message

The words in curly braces are replaced with real information when the message is sent.

You typeYou get
{user}The member's name, bolded
{user.mention}A clickable ping
{user.name}Their name, plain
{user.avatar}Their avatar image
{user.joined_at}Today's date, for a join message
{user.created_at}When their account was made, useful for spotting alts
{user.discriminator}Their tag
{guild.name}Server name
{guild.count}Total members
{guild.count.format}Their place in line, like 101st
{guild.icon}Server icon
{guild.id}Server ID
{guild.created_at}When the server started
{guild.boost_count}Boost count
{guild.booster_count}How many boosters
{guild.boost_tier}Current boost level
{guild.vanity}Your custom invite link
{botcolor}bore's grey, for a matching embed
{invisible}A colour that makes embed text blend into the background

Making it look good

Welcome, leave and boost messages accept a full embed script, which is how you get a coloured box with an image, fields and buttons instead of a line of text. Start the message with {embed} and use the syntax from Embeds.

,welcome add #general {embed}$v{title:Welcome to {guild.name}$v{description:{user.mention} is member number {guild.count.format}.$v{image:{user.avatar}}

Greetings are sent to every configured channel a moment after the member joins. If a member is welcomed three times, you have three channels configured.

  • Auto Roles for what new members receive automatically.
  • Ping on Join for notifying specific people when someone arrives.
