Channel Tools
Purge, lockdown, slowmode, create, rename, nuke and thread controls.
Channel Tools
Most of these need Manage Channels or Manage Messages. Fake permissions count, so a helper role can be given access through Fake Permissions instead of a real Discord permission.
Purging messages
,purgeAliases: c, prune. Requires Manage Messages. Deletes the last fifteen messages that are not pinned, plus your command message. It stays quiet afterwards, on purpose.
Give it a number to change how much goes:
,purge 200There are filters for the harder jobs:
| Command | Removes |
|---|---|
,purge user @member 50 | Messages from one member |
,purge bots 50 | Messages from bots |
,purge humans 50 | Messages from people |
,purge links 50 | Messages with a link or an embed |
,purge attachments 50 | Messages with files, images or video |
,purge stickers 50 | Messages with stickers |
,purge mentions 50 | Messages that ping someone |
,purge embeds 25 | Messages with embeds, one to one hundred |
,purge emotes 25 | Messages using custom emoji |
,purge emoji 25 | Messages using unicode emoji |
,purge webhooks 25 | Messages sent by webhooks |
,purge activity 25 | System and activity messages |
,purge contains free keys | Messages containing that text |
,purge startswith !play | Messages starting with that text |
,purge endswith please | Messages ending with that text |
The three text searches look through the last one hundred messages and tell you how many they deleted. The file, human and pinned behaviour differs slightly: attachments, humans and stickers do not skip pinned messages, everything else does.
Lockdown
,lockdownAlias: lock. Requires Manage Channels. Stops the lock role from sending in this channel and reacts with a padlock instead of posting a reply. There is no automatic timed unlock: it stays locked until you run unlock.
,lockdown #general raid in progress
,unlockAlias: unlockdown. Both take the channel and the reason as optional arguments, and default to the channel you are standing in.
Other lockdown tools:
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
,lockdown all | Locks every channel that is not ignored |
,unlock all | Unlocks them again |
,lockdown ignore #general | Keeps a channel out of all. Run again to stop ignoring it |
,lockdown ignored | Lists the ignored channels |
,lockdown role @Muted | Changes which role gets its sending switched off |
Without ,lockdown role, the role is @everyone, so a plain ,lockdown silences the whole channel for non-staff.
Slowmode
,slowmode on 15
,slowmode offSeconds between zero and 21600 (six hours). Give a channel to set it somewhere else: ,slowmode on 30 #general. Requires Manage Channels.
Hiding and revealing a channel
,hide
,revealSwitches @everyone's view of the channel. Defaults to the channel you ran it in. Requires Manage Channels.
Channel management
,channel create announcements
,channel delete #old-channel
,channel rename #general off-topic
,channel nsfw #moviesRequires Manage Channels. Create makes a text channel, delete works on text and voice, rename takes the new name as the rest of the line, and nsfw toggles the age restriction and tells you the new state. These commands only react with a check mark, they do not post a sentence.
Nuking a channel
,nuke #spamAlias: clone. Requires Manage Server. Recreates the channel with the same name, position, topic and permission overrides, deletes the original, and says "First!" in the new one. Your welcome message and sticky message settings follow the new channel. Confirms with a button first.
Topic
,topic Read the rules before posting.Sets the topic of the channel you are in. Needs Manage Channels.
Threads
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
,thread lock <thread> spam | Locks a thread and stores the reason |
,thread unlock <thread> | Opens it again |
,thread rename <thread> new name | Renames it |
,thread add <thread> @member | Adds someone |
,thread remove <thread> @member | Removes someone |
Requires Manage Threads. close and reopen work as aliases for lock and unlock.
