Member Actions
Ban, kick, timeout, warn, rename, strip roles, and everything else you do to a person.
Member Actions
Every command here uses the default prefix ,. You can swap in your own.
bore will not act on the server owner, on you, or on anyone whose highest role sits at or above yours. It will not act on members above its own top role either, so keep that role high.
Ban
,ban @member selling accountsAliases: evict, deport. Requires Ban Members.
Removes seven days of the member's messages. The reason is optional and is stored as No reason provided. when you skip it, along with who ran the command. Banning by user ID works too, even if they never joined.
Banning a booster asks for a confirmation button first, in case you clicked the wrong name. Anyone else is banned straight away.
Unban
,unban someuserRequires Ban Members. The name or ID has to match one banned user exactly.
Kick
,kick @memberRequires Kick Members. Boosters get the same confirmation button as a ban.
Timeout
,timeout @member 2h abusive in #generalThe duration accepts 45m, 2h, 3d and similar formats. Anywhere from one second up to 28 days. Requires Moderate Members.
To end a timeout early:
,untimeout @memberTo see who is timed out right now:
,timeout listShows up to one hundred members with how long each one has left.
Mute and unmute
,mute @member 10mThis is a timeout with a shorter default: one minute if you do not give a duration.
There are two more mutes that work inside a single channel instead of the whole server:
| Command | What it takes away |
|---|---|
,imute @member and ,iunmute @member | Posting files and embeds in this channel |
,rmute @member and ,runmute @member | Reactions and external emoji in this channel |
Both need Moderate Members and only affect the channel you ran them in.
Warn
,warn @member keep posting adsRequires Manage Messages. The member is counted per server and gets a direct message telling them where they were warned and why.
Check the count:
,warnings @memberRun without a member it shows your own.
Warnings are a count only. There is no command to delete a single warning or clear someone's record. Use timeouts and role removals for anything you want to be reversible.
Force nickname
,rename @member bannednameRequires Manage Nicknames. Names longer than 32 characters are cut off.
To lock someone into a nickname so they cannot change it back:
,forcenickname @member reading the rulesAliases: fn, forcenick, freezenick. bore puts the nickname back every time they change it. Running the command without a name releases them.
Strip roles
,strip @memberAlias: stripstaff. Requires Administrator. Removes every role that carries a dangerous permission: Administrator, Manage Server, Manage Roles, Manage Channels, Manage Webhooks, Ban Members, Kick Members, Mention Everyone, Manage Messages, Moderate Members, and a few more. This is the punishment AntiNuke uses too, so it is the fastest way to defuse a hijacked mod account.
Banning a raid in progress
,recentban 10 raidingAlias: chunkban. Requires Ban Members. Bans the newest members who joined in the last twenty four hours. Between one and twenty five, five by default. You, the owner, and anyone above you are skipped.
To see who those members are first:
,newmembers 20Alias: newusers. One to fifty, ten by default.
Moving people in voice
,drag all @MoveMeToOtherChannelAlias: d. Requires Move Members and that you are in a voice channel yourself. The first argument can be all, everyone, mentions, IDs, or a piece of someone's name.
Checking what someone can do
,permissions @member #staff-onlyAlias: perms. Requires Manage Roles. Lists up to sixty permissions that member holds in that channel.
Giving and taking roles
See Reaction and Button Roles for self-serve roles, and use these directly:
,role @member @Moderator
,role add @member @Moderator
,role remove @member @ModeratorThe bare form toggles: adds the role if they lack it, removes it if they have it. Everything needs Manage Roles, and bore refuses to hand out roles above its own top role, managed roles, or @everyone.
Other role tools, all under the same permission:
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
,role create <name> | Makes a new role |
